Flō Networks is expanding its collaboration with NIC México through a new .MX infrastructure node deployed within our network in Mexico City.
NIC México installed the node on July 29, 2026, and brought it online on August 4 as part of its Anycast Cloud. By integrating the node into our infrastructure, we bring .MX name resolution closer to Flō Networks customers in Mexico, helping reduce DNS query response times while adding resilience to one of the fundamental components of the Internet.
The deployment builds on a collaboration that began in 2024, when we integrated the first .MX node into our infrastructure in El Paso, Texas. The new point of presence in Mexico City expands that collaboration and strengthens the infrastructure available within Mexico.
What Changes with a .MX Node Inside Our Network?
Every time someone visits a website using a .MX domain, the Domain Name System (DNS) identifies the corresponding address and enables the connection.
NIC México’s Anycast Cloud distributes this function across multiple nodes that share the same service address. The network directs each query to an available node based on connectivity conditions, bringing DNS resolution closer to different geographic locations while diversifying the infrastructure that supports the service.
By hosting one of these nodes directly within the Flō Networks network in Mexico City, we reduce the network distance many DNS queries from our customers in Mexico need to travel. That proximity can improve response times while adding another location from which the .MX infrastructure can operate.
For our customers, all of this happens seamlessly. Behind every query, however, is infrastructure designed to deliver fast, reliable access.
Strengthening Mexico’s Digital Infrastructure
At Flō Networks, we operate infrastructure that connects businesses, data centers, cloud platforms and digital services across Mexico and the United States. Collaborations like this allow us to extend that capability beyond enterprise connectivity and contribute to the foundational infrastructure that keeps the Internet running.
The importance of that infrastructure continues to grow alongside the digital economy. Enterprise applications, e-commerce platforms, cloud services and millions of websites rely on DNS to operate. Although users rarely see it, DNS performance is an essential part of the connectivity experience.
Integrating a .MX node into our Mexico City network represents a tangible contribution to that ecosystem: it brings critical infrastructure closer to users, increases network diversity and strengthens the foundation supporting the continued growth of digital services in Mexico.
