Customer Stories: Lexmark

Lexmark creates innovative imaging solutions and technologies that help customers worldwide print, secure, and manage information with ease, efficiency and unmatched value. Combining innovative technologies with deep industry expertise, Lexmark simplifies the complex intersection of digital and printed information in retail, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, education, government, and more. Lexmark sells its products and services in more than 170 countries.

Lexmark’s headquarters is based in Lexington, Kentucky, but the company has extensive manufacturing operations in Mexico, including the Lexmark Ciudad Juarez campus, a 70,000-square-foot facility with a 230,000-square-foot warehouse for components and finished products.

Like all manufacturers, Lexmark needs to connect its operations with a rock-solid, end-to-end network. In an effort to support more robust communications capabilities across borders, Lexmark began searching for a provider to deploy reliable, always-on fiber optic-based phone lines and local Internet service. A top priority was to find a trusted telecommunications partner with professional service and exceptional uptime.

How We Solved It

Transtelco offers a vast fiber optic network connecting Mexico, US border states, and beyond, data centers located in Texas and Mexico, as well as a next-generation network that offers options for local, metro, regional and international connections.

For these and other reasons, Lexmark chose Transtelco to deliver both reliable phone lines linking US facilities with operations in Mexico, as well as a redundant Internet circuit to avoid the risk of failures. As a result of the network upgrade, Lexmark has established easier communication with customers and suppliers outside Mexico, and the company can rest easy about Internet uptime.

“Transtelco’s technologies are superb, but we are even more impressed with the service. The post-sales professionalism and follow up have been excellent. Even after the contract was finalized, Transtelco has continued with outstanding service. The network reliability—both uptime and ongoing monitoring—are excellent.”
