Beverage industry factory

Global company in the beverage industry streamlined its processes by using flexible multi-cloud connection services.

For a company with business units located in several cities in the United States, Mexico, and Latin America, establishing flexible next-generation interconnections to multiple public and private cloud services was essential to optimizing data transfer flows and improving regional operations.

Challenge

Like many modern companies, this global enterprise operates under dynamic organizational schemes with decentralized decision-making, autonomous business units, and a global presence with leadership in diverse regions. These particularities demand agile and flexible connectivity solutions that adapt to the pace of their organization and business needs.

Their connectivity services needed to interconnect with cloud services without drastically increasing latency. In addition, the service scheme with their previous provider limited their ability to quickly deploy new links or geographically migrate some of their existing links according to the company’s and market’s needs.

The company was looking for a connectivity provider that could provide redundant links, link its private cloud located in Europe with public clouds in North American regions, interconnect industrial plants, and, above all, adapt quickly to emerging needs without the need to renegotiate contracts, pay heavy penalties for these changes, or incur administrative and red-taped processes that would halt or delay its operations.

Our solution

To meet its needs for constant change and keep up with its innovation and technology requirements, the company chose Flō Networks as its connectivity partner. The high capacity network with direct connections to public clouds and the possibility of connecting private clouds, the border crossings between the United States, Mexico, and Latin America, the scalability and flexibility of the network, the ability to adapt and connect their infrastructure and the high availability solutions, were the reasons why they decided to connect through Flō Networks.

Using its fiber network, Flō Networks connected the company’s different locations with diverse routes and homogeneous technology to provide scalable, high-availability services. This infrastructure enables reliable Internet access and connectivity services that allow private communication between its industrial plants, data centers, and public cloud services.

With the consolidation of all its accesses to a single network that offers direct interconnections to multiple public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google, Oracle, among others), the company has eliminated intermediaries and ensured the possibility of meeting future connectivity requirements for these providers with low latency and efficient operation.

In addition, flexible business and operational models allow the deployment of connectivity to new cloud services or the rebalancing of traffic between clouds as business needs demand without the need for administrative activities to generate new orders. This results in a considerable acceleration of provisioning times that facilitates decision-making.

The company now has interconnections to different public and private clouds and the locations of various business units, with a scalable, secure, and stable network that allows its team to adjust link capacities, add and modify new plants and clouds to its network, and optimize and innovate internal processes.

As a result of this implementation, the company could migrate its operations from one country to another, with direct interconnection to more than three public cloud services to flexibly serve the needs of its plants and business units.

Multicloud services provide flexibility to companies that require dynamic data management within their corporate network.

How we built the solution

Enterprise WAN

Our Enterprise WAN is a global, layer 3 multipoint (E-WAN) with MPLS technology that allows your business to achieve a high-quality network with virtual private network (VPN) capability.

Multicloud Connect

Connect your network to multiple cloud providers or different regions of the same cloud, using a predetermined bandwidth that is shared between the different connections.
